Sauras are one of the oldest tribes of Odisha, India. These paintings are popularly known as Saura paintings. Saura art is a style of wall mural painting.
These paintings also called Ikons and they depict tribal folklore and religious significance of the Sauras. The artwork uses extensive symbols (Ikons) that mirror the lifestyle of the Sauras. People, horses, elephants, sun and moon, and tree of life are frequently used in their artwork.
